Gamble relishes his job as a paper pusher, but Hoitz is itching to get back on the street and make a name for himself. Critics Consensus

A clever parody of cop-buddy action-comedies, The Other Guys delivers several impressive action set pieces and lots of big laughs, thanks to the assured comic chemistry between Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg.

This is the fourth feature that Will Ferrell and writer-director Adam McKay have collaborated on, and once again they deliver laugh-out-loud if ultimately disposable comedy with mixed messages about arrested male development.

At least McKay makes the film visually interesting, with one or two scenes of action that are worthy of mention, and some flair behind the camera during a frozen bar scene.

It's a strangely sobering end to a seriously funny film, but also a hint at what McKay would tackle later in the decade with the Oscar-winning The Big Short.

The movie isn't bad per se, but unfocused would be the corresponding adjective. [Full review in Spanish]

Mark Wahlberg is hit or miss, but this movie is absolutely hilarious. It it weren't for clips on SM I would have had no idea that this film even existed, which is weird considering the insane star power, Eva Mendes, Michael Keaton, Steve Coogan, Ray Stevenson, Dwayne Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson in addition to Will and Mark. The other guys blends absurdist comedy with action in a way that never slows down or gets dull. Will Farrel's character is is one of the funniest he's ever put to film and is layered far more than when you first expect.

One of the best cult comedy classics easily up there with Galaxy Quest! The character development, the backstories, the current tension create a immense space where these top notch comedic actors are free to be the best they are without over shadowing eachother creating some genuine unique comedy bits like a silent fight! This film will have you watching YouTube clips again and again.

Quite frankly, hilariously, and unironically my favorite Wahlberg performance ever. Sure he was great as Sgt Dignam, but this movie had me laughing from the start. Ferrel is… Ferrel as always, and he’s awesome in this as well.

The Other Guys, a fun buddy comedy. The chemistry between Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell works. The story is simple and linear, with not much complexity to it. The comedy works, and it makes you laugh. The side characters were great too. Overall, a good comedy. The negative would be that some jokes were not that good, and the dynamics of the story could have been better.
