If Over the Hedge aims solely to entertain, it does so in a way that's mildly amusing but mostly hackneyed. If it aims to instruct, it weakens its own argument with the plethora of product tie-ins.

This may not be as memorable as other animation classics and similarly to the first toy story movies, the animation is now showing it's age. But it's still a funny movie with a great message. Definitely worth the watch.

Emmett/Daddy Day. The music is fantastic, the story is fun and the characters are unique. This movie is super clever and is an underrated DreamWorks gem. I used to say that this was one of my favorite animated films. On rewatch, there are some super slow moments, but it's still a fun ride. Best Character: Hammy Best Quote: "I am a crazy, rabid squirrel! I want my cookies!" - Hammy Best Scene: RJ explaining human's love of food Best Piece of Score: "RJ Rescues His Family" Note: The music by Ben Folds is top tier.

The animation looks like from cartoon network on Saturday morning but is really a funny adorable family movie and the casting are terrific especially William Shatner voice work but the songs from Ben Folds doesn't fit in the movie.
