What to Know

Critics Consensus

Passengers proves Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence work well together -- and that even their chemistry isn't enough to overcome a fatally flawed story.

Passengers takes what could have been an interesting debate about consent and glosses it over with cheesy romance and problematic sex. Go to Full Review

Its science-fiction premise about lovers in space starts with promising questions, but soon approaches a horizon that lacks depth and is lost, from the beginning, in a black hole of clichés. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Matthew W. @Mattrocks704 5h This movie is entertaining enough for a good movie night. I wanted more towards the end and the ending it it’s good. See more Mihad K. @Mihad 2d I could watch again easily.look I don't get the hate this movie it's good.if we get the girl pov it's will be better ofc. It's had high potential to much much better and even multiple part for my view but I think they just went to easy cozy film and nothing wrong with that. I love JL and that's all. See more shane O @Shanes_DVD_Shack 2d It’s a beautiful shot film about the desperation of loneliness, isolation and survival. Both actors were great in this. I’ve seen it twice now and I enjoyed it even more the second time See more Eames A. @EamesAgu 6d Passengers is a beautiful and unsettling film. And kind of a nice mellow watch for late night. A lot of people seem to hate the plot, which is weird because it isn’t a Marvel movie but a morally complex sci-fi movie with morally grey characters. The whole point is that in space and all alone you would make different decision than you would on Earth. J Law could have done a better job though. See more Ron S @RT44228736 Apr 4 This film tries to justify the main character raping the other. I found it not only insulting but just wrong. It makes you wonder if the principle actors actually read the script See more Alexx P @RT56466361 Apr 4 I'm amazed this movie is now ten years old. I'm glad I finally got around to watching it. It got such bad reviews from critics when it came out, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. SF is a difficult genre to nail. It can be woefully depressing, stupid, cliche, and unbelievable if not done right. I honestly think this movie nailed the balance between humor & drama, hope & despair. The special effects are gorgeous, the actors are equally gorgeous, and the story sucked me in and kept me engaged through the whole ride. I give it a thumbs up and recommend it to anyone who enjoys SF. See more Read all reviews
