Critics Consensus

An action thriller starring Mads Mikkelsen as the world's most dangerous assassin should be terrifically entertaining, but Polar proves it's possible to ruin anything if you try.

Polar is an astonishingly flaccid film, a movie that prioritizes blood splatter and bouncing butts over literally all else, including plot and character development.

If it has any redeeming qualities, it chooses to keep them a secret.

The premise of Polar is hardly an original idea. However, with Mads Mikkelsen leading, it works once it gets away from the shifty first act.

POLAR tells a somewhat familiar story with style, verve, and humor and the absolutely smashing presence and talent of the great Mads Mikkelsen.

Read the synopsis of Polar... you would be mistaken for thinking you were watching John Wick. Polar is the polar opposite to John Wick. In that John Wick is a great film and Polar is a bit of a mess.

Absolute trash. There is nothing redeeming in it. Then the main character shoots his own dog. No reason for the scene in the movie at all. Gross movie filled with poor acting, bad makeup and acting. I wouldn’t waste a minute on this movie.

For those who love these types of movies I will give you 2 in comparison, John Wick 4 and Boss Level. I loved those movies and this is a blend of both. EXCELLENT

A pesar de las opiniones de los críticos, Polar me pareció una película entretenida. Es cierto que viene de muchos clichés y que quizá las escenas de sexo sobraban pero al ser interpretado por Mads Mikkelsen, la película sube bastante de categoría.

Sex, violence, action, revenge, Hudgens, Mads... all without a hint of virtue signaling. No wonder the critics hate it.

I don’t care what the critics say! This movie is a great revenge story, while also being similar to John Wick. Mads Mikkelsen and Keanu Reeves are almost the same age, so John Wick could get remade with Mads Mikkelsen as John Wick, even though Mads Mikkelsen would be like 70 years old or a little bit younger than that by the time his version of John Wick 5 would premiere and those five John Wick movies would still be just as awesome as Keanu Reeves version of John Wick. No joke.

Movie was dumpster juice with the progressive looking actors the asian woman with one eyebrow, weirdo white leader guy, the fashionista girl. The only good acting was from mads mikkelsen. They tried way to hard to have the A team come across as ruthless and violant its cringe worthy and just annoying. The casual acting from the supposedly A-team, the director and writer (probably the same person) was horrible....movie should have just stayed on paper or just fined actual real deal looking bad guys and have them act as such.
