Victor C @VCooper8020 2d I must have seen this film close to twenty years ago. Just watched it again and it still holds up. The entire cast is stellar and man is Chaz Palminteri a badass. See more Blake- N @PBSAniDom Apr 20 Poolhall Junkies (2002) is a decent enough drama, but it never really rises above being "just okay." The story of ambition, hustling, and personal struggle in the world of pool halls has potential, and there are moments where it feels like it’s building toward something more meaningful. However, it often falls back on familiar tropes and predictable beats that keep it from standing out. The characters are serviceable, but not especially deep or memorable, and some of the dialogue leans a bit too heavily into stylized toughness rather than feeling natural. There are a few engaging scenes, especially around the pool games themselves, but they aren’t enough to fully elevate the film. Overall, it’s watchable and has its moments, but it doesn’t do anything particularly new or exciting within the drama genre. A middle-of-the-road effort that lands at a 5/10.
