At 2½ hours plus, it also has its longueurs but there are some spectacularly beautiful moments and Gosling makes an engaging companion who makes something poignant as well as funny out of Grace’s unwelcome elevation to hero status.

I mean sure it's a feel good story and the Speilbergian touches are nice, and if it was on in the background while you clean your house, you wouldn't need to really pay attention to follow the cookie cutter storyline.

Great movie and all around good cast. It hit all the emotions, which I did not expect. Great movie for adults and children and definitely a good family movie!!! Great action scenes but also great storytelling. Visual effects are outstanding! Will definitely buy the movie when it comes out!

There is a mixture of adventure, drama, comedy, and a unique collaboration between two individuals, one being an alien. If you are a sci-fi fan, this movie is an interesting find. The real attraction for me was the utter lack of vulgar language. It was a refreshing change from the nasty foul language Hollywood usually promotes in their movies.
