Horror fan 4 @Horrorfan4life Aug 27 This was a good movie featuring talking animals and a zebra who wants to race with horses. Hayden Panetttiere leads this great cast of characters and does a wonderful job. There were some funny scenes and moments especially involving the flies. It was predictable but I love a happy ending. The concept of a zebra wanting to become a racehorse is unique, but the execution doesn’t fully live up to its potential. The film has a few light and entertaining moments, especially for younger audiences, but a lot of the humor feels forced and the story is very predictable. The talking animal gimmick can be charming at first, but it quickly wears thin as the movie goes on. Some of the characters are likable, but they aren’t developed enough to leave a strong impression. Overall, Racing Stripes isn’t terrible, but it’s not particularly memorable either. It’s watchable if you’re bored or just want something simple, but there are definitely better family movies out there. I’d rate it a 4/10.
