Ex-FBI agent Will Graham (Edward Norton) is an expert investigator who quit the Bureau after almost losing his life in the process of capturing the elusive Dr. Lecter (Anthony Hopkins). After a series of particularly grisly murders, Graham soon realizes that the best way to catch this killer, known as the Tooth Fairy, is to find a way to get inside the killer's mind. For Graham, that means confronting his past and facing his former nemesis, the now-incarcerated Lecter.

I genuinely enjoyed this one. Edward Norton gives Will Graham a lot of emotional weight, and Ralph Fiennes is seriously unsettling in places. Hopkins is still entertaining, but the film sometimes feels too familiar and less psychologically intense than The Silence of the Lambs. Still a solid thriller, just not a great one.

This is just not my genre of likable movies. Great cast. But the melodramatic music was over the top; it’s of it’s time I guess. Some of it just seemed pretty hokey.

Great movie although I thought Hannibal was just about as good and the ratings are much lower. Overall loved the casting in this one, great movie.

I've been watching the Hannibal series over the weekend, and this was the 4th one chronologically, but it was a remake of the first Hannibal movie 'Manhunter' directed by Michael Mann’s (1986) which I had seen first and liked a lot. I didn't knew that, so I was quickly disappointed that this was nothing new and as the surprise effect was gone, I stoped watching it. The 1st one had a lot of unknown actors so it felt more authentic ... this one didn't.
