After being fired from his job, Los Angeles slacker and punk rocker Otto (Emilio Estevez) lands a gig working for an eccentric repossession agent named Bud (Harry Dean Stanton). At first, Otto is reluctant to work as a repo man, but he grows to love the fast-paced job. After learning of a Chevy Malibu that has been given a $20,000 price tag, Otto embarks on a quest to find the car with the beautiful Leila (Olivia Barash), who claims the trunk's contents are otherworldly.

The more times I watch this delight, the more I like it. It's surreal, gritty, comedic, the cinematography makes LA look like Philly. The soundtrack is perfect.

This film is great in many ways. Above all it's a love letter to a diverse and interesting city. It has a mysterious goal, plenty of comedy, great low stakes conversations with every kind of schlub type of character, and beautiful shots of quiet places along with plenty of action and car chases. Really an almost perfect combination of low stakes and high stakes story.

People that hate this movie just don't get it.. it's not SUPPOSED to make any sense! I'd go so far as to say this is a masterpiece. There's a good reason it's considered a cult classic. And I mean c'mon.. Iggy Pop!

A true cult classic, Repo Man delivers. The cast is great and has fun with the screenplay without ever coming off insincere. The visuals are dated, of course, but they're still fun to watch. If you're a collector, this one deserves a place on your shelf.
