Beth (Vivian Kerr) has recently been laid off and struggles to maintain the appearance of a successful middle-class lifestyle as she bounces around Los Angeles. Hoping to land a new job and change her situation before her estranged older brother Ben (Anthony Rapp) finds out, Beth must confront her own pride in order to reconnect with him and provide for her young daughter Birdy. Meanwhile, Ben and his wife Stacy (Lana Parrilla) consider a third round of IVF and Stacy, a successful attorney, must re-evaluate her own conflicted relationship with motherhood.

Vivian Kerr and Anthony Rapp were so believable as siblings! Loved this tender film. If you’ve ever felt like life is against you and you can’t get ahead, you will sympathize with the frustration and self-sabotage here that is so human and SO REAL. I loved it.

Anthony Rapp is perfect as the older brother with the weight of the world on his shoulders. Loved him since Adventures in Babysitting and finally he got to be the lead! Enjoyed the brother-sister vibe with him and Vivian Kerr. They look like siblings!

SO GOOD! Lana Parrilla was the draw and she slayed as ALWAYS. But I truly loved Anthony Rapp and Vivian Kerr as screwed up siblings Ben and Beth. You Can Count on Me was the obvious reference, and even if some moments were a bit derivative of that film, the film is just as heartfelt and funny and similarly really nails its ending.

Beautiful film. Loved the scene in the bathroom with Ben and Beth having their heart to heart about failure and feeling like you suck at life. And Lana Parrilla as Stacy who can’t get pregnant and sobs in the bathroom at work was quietly devastating. So much emotion and empathy for these struggling characters!

Great sibling film that feels real and emotionally earned. Explores family trauma without going all Hallmark. Vivian Kerr and Anthony Rapp are phenomenal together as the brother-sister pair who rub each other the wrong way but also love each other firercely. Strong supporting cast of Lana Parrilla, Khleo Thomas, and Beth Dover. The writing has depth, and the direction is sensitive and patient.
