She’s All That isn’t just about Laney Boggs’ makeover — it’s about the transformation that happens on both sides. While Laney gains confidence and learns to embrace being seen, Zack Siler sheds his shallow “perfect guy” image and discovers a more genuine version of himself. Their relationship feels real because they change together, each bringing out the best in the other. With charm, heart, and standout chemistry between Rachael Leigh Cook and Freddie Prinze Jr., this late ‘90s teen rom-com proves that true love isn’t about appearances, but about seeing someone for who they really are.

A classic from its time, but watching it now feels dated and shallow. The “makeover” trope just doesn’t land the same way anymore. There’s little depth to the characters and the romance feels forced. While it might hold some nostalgic value, it’s hard to overlook how reductive and formulaic the story is. Just not for me.
