TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch 1 day ago Signal One explores the search for the unknown, bringing skeptical scientists in to investigate an alien anomaly. As they uncover new information, they figure out how to communicate with it. The premise has potential, and the cast holds its own, but the performances never become powerful enough to make me want more. The screenplay is where the film struggles. It is missing important details and the credibility needed to make the situation convincing. There is back-and-forth without enough explanation to connect everything. I also was not a fan of the twists involving the alien dying and coming back. The story becomes a jumble that is more confusing than entertaining. Ultimately, Signal One never delivers on its premise. I wanted a stronger story, clearer explanations, and more suspense around communicating with the unknown. Instead, the film feels disconnected and difficult to follow. It is fine as a streaming movie, but it is one of those films you will finish and quickly forget. It is super boring of the four of us I was the only one who did not fall asleep. Outstanding actors/actresses horrible script. Love all the people in it and they are not to blame, they did fantastic but could not save this train wreck. Art-house nonsense. The talk of quantum mechanics was not well grounded in actual science. It's about communicating with aliens but there are obviously better ones like Close Encounters & Arrival. Waste of time, total skip. See more Noah H @Noah85 Oct 1, 2026 Well, this was a waste of time. It felt like a complete Contact knock off. The characters were so lame, and they swore way too much for a PG 13 movie. I’m sorry, but I just didn’t enjoy this. Watch Contact instead. It’s a whole lot better than this pile of garbage.
