In the spirit of Point Break comes this dazzling thriller that mixes crime action and incredible surfing stunts. To mark the anniversary of his father's death, Sean takes his friends on a road trip to his surfer dad's favorite beach. But Sean's drug-dealing friend forces him to do one last favor -- steal a heroin shipment from a local mobster -- and the crime lord retaliates by kidnapping Sean's girlfriend in an attempt to get his drugs back. Can Sean get back to town in time to save both her life, and his own?

Yuckkkkk these other reviews are fake just like the rest of rotten tomatoes See more Paul F @RT76555093 12/04/2023 Part surfing movie part thriller the film is kind of a sequel to Avalon's Summer City released 46 years ago the premiere of which I attended. What I loved about it was in part the nostalgic elements as it referenced the original film which starred a few unknown actors like Steve Bisley and Mel Gibson. This film manages to work as a study of Australian mateship and the contemporary surfie culture that has existed in Australia for decades. The surf sequences are dazzling and elegant and the movie moves with a taut briskness. One hopes it gets publicity on home turf and finds an audience. In the US the movie is playing in select AMC theaters and on demand through Apple etc. Grade B See more Read all reviews
