Crappy internationally co-produced animation, ahoy.

It's all amiably silly and definitely an option for half-term.

Surely there is a species of monkey somewhere far, far away who are all banging randomly on typewriters and yet have managed, somehow, to come up with a better script than this derivative piece of space junk.

Honestly, this movie was absolutely painful. Not because it was frustratingly terrible, but because of how this was such a wasted opportunity.

Unfortunately the punny title may be the best thing about Spark: A Space Tail.

I was hoping I would enjoy it like I enjoyed Ratchet and Clank (yep, I liked that film). Unfortunately it was not to be.

A generic, irritating space adventure devoid of any originality. With weak digital animation and empty settings, the predictable script fails to create charismatic characters or amusing jokes.

Think Zootopia, Sing, and Star Trek combined together and you get this. And for some reason, the director Aaron Woodley has an okay job of animation nonetheless, but the production studios of The Nut Job just need better opportunity to even make an independent animated movie like this.

I liked it and more importantly my kids liked it. No singing every 7 minutes like in a usual Disney fare but lots of adventure. In fact there is zero singing which makes it great! It's not rocket science just a nice entertaining ride. While mildly entertaining for adults the kids love it and watch every single minute of it.
