A cryptic message from the past leads James Bond (Daniel Craig) to Mexico City and Rome, where he meets the beautiful widow (Monica Bellucci) of an infamous criminal. Perhaps it's my own fatigue with the Bond franchise and the knowledge of exactly where it will go and how things will turn out that makes the old-fashioned and nicely campy Spectre not as gripping a ride as I would have wanted it to be.

Very enjoyable and was one of the best Bond movies we have seen for the first two thirds. Then it became very much as we have seen before. And it dragged. It was also very silly. There was no need for it at all. This was a clear case of "Less is More". We still give it four stars because it was excellent for the majority of the movie. Daniel Craig at his very best. We missed it the first time around and glad we caught it at the reboot.

Probably the least thumping Bond of the bunch, but every time the action kicked in, it went HARD. That rocking score did its usual magic, and Bond delivers another banger!

After the heights of Skyfall, Spectre is a baffling misstep. The increasingly silly twists and forced revelations drain the story of any credibility, while Bond himself feels oddly cartoonish in a film that never finds the right tone.

A movie attempting to follow the recipe of a "classic" James Bond movie, but maybe this is why it struggles in the era of Daniel Craig's 007. Brilliant cast and locations, some occasional classic Bond humor as well as exciting special effects give this movie the potential for greatness, but the lackluster writing and reveal of the villain's intentions leave much to be desired. Much like Quantum of Solace, the movie fell victim to "script trouble": Instead of a writer's strike, it was a script leak this time, which caused the movie to be rewritten as it was being shot. Daniel Craig and his co-stars deliver good performances portraying their respective roles, despite Daniel Craig filming with a broken leg, which is honestly admirable and commendable.
