Annie is looking forward to a Caribbean cruise with her cop boyfriend, Alex, who purchased the tickets to make up for lying about working on the SWAT team. Their trip turns dangerous, however, when an explosion disables the ship's communication system, and it becomes clear that the vessel is under someone else's control. Alex and Annie must fight for survival as they discover that John Geiger, a crazed passenger, is behind the chaos.

Speed 2: Cruise Control is a sequel that struggles to capture the excitement and intensity of the original. As someone who loves Sandra Bullock and her work, I wanted to enjoy this movie more, but it is definitely one of her weaker films. It is not a terrible movie, but it never reaches the level of the blockbuster that came before it. Sandra Bullock delivers a strong performance as always, bringing her charm and energy to the role, while William Dafoe gives a memorable and committed performance as the villain. The biggest issue is the screenplay, especially the decision to move the action from a bus to a cruise ship. While the concept had potential, it never created the same urgency or suspense. The story feels more like a separate action movie rather than a true continuation of the first film. Overall, Speed 2: Cruise Control has some entertaining moments and solid performances, but it misses the impact and excitement that made the original so special.

Not quite as good as the origonalbut still entertaining. I loved the last 30 minutes when the ship was plowing its way through town taking out everything in its path after passengers realized what was happpening all they could say was "SHIT" And the little dog in the guys convertible. He comes out after the ship comes to rest against the clock tower and the anchor falls on his car. I'm so glad the little dog was O.K.
