Even as the overstuffed plot ventures into dark territory, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a lot of fun, but it's predicated on the notion that even a Spider-kid who's been artificially kept a teenager for six decades needs to grow up.

Starting with scenes as nods to these reference material as well as expanding the story from 'No Way Home', the other Marvel character cameos, the telepath ‘villain’ and Parker’s inner conflict, the film still delivers on the entertainment front.

With great power comes great responsibility, as Spidey’s mantra goes, but Spider-Man: Brand New Day demonstrates a greater power in subtlety and understanding. It’s a fresh take for a superhero film and a beloved character’s welcome metamorphosis.

A very nice entry for the SM franchise. I didn’t completely agree with the story, but it was better written than most of the previous Marvel entries. The acting was solid, and the story had emotional depth and character development which has been lacking for the past few years.
