It’s all rather predictable, but the world-building is distinctive and the animation is pleasingly lush. Go to Full Review

Unlike the greatest Pixar films that the director, Nathan Greno, and his three writers are trying to emulate, any sharper messaging gets quickly cast aside for a fairly rote buddy comedy quest narrative. Go to Full Review

["Swapped" is] simple, but it’s not mindless, executing a good story and delivering on a poignant message. Go to Full Review

It'll pop for family audiences and bring a bit of that cutesy charm that Pixar and DreamWorks of old used to bring to the table. Go to Full Review

Fifty T @RT01421419 9 hrs ago Freaky Friday Meets Fantasy Animation Swapped never pretends it's reinventing the body-swap wheel. Instead, it focuses on doing the formula well - and for the most part, it succeeds. The classic Freaky Friday setup drops into a colourful fantasy world filled with strange creatures and surprisingly polished animation. Visually, this is where the movie shines most. The environments are vibrant, and the creature designs have enough personality to make the world feel lived in. The story is predictable - you can see the emotional destination coming early - but enough small twists and heartfelt moments keep it engaging. The movie understands its audience, balancing humor, action, and emotional lessons without becoming preachy. The empathy themes are hardly subtle, but they land effectively for a family audience. Not an animated classic, but an easy, enjoyable recommendation for family movie night. 7.5/10: Fun, visually strong, and warmly entertaining. See more Julian L @bobanimations0 Oct 24, 2026 Kind of charming actually. It reminded me of a kind of childish movie I would’ve come up with as a kid. The whole concept of shapeshifting is something that has always greatly interested me. Though aside from a couple cool concepts, the movie plays out kind of generically and didn’t really hook me in… until the twist with the villain happened (which I’m sure everyone knows about by now). But that twist really gave this movie a needed push into the third act. Without that villain, this movie would’ve been way more forgettable. See more Jack L @Jack-o-lantern Sep 5, 2026 I think this is great movie. I love the narrative and the message. It tells a good story about understanding each other in a different way. The problem with this movie is the twist villain, it just comes out of nowhere and I think it would have done better without. I also think it plays to safe with it’s story and I think it could’ve done something a little more riskier. See more Read all reviews
