Cutthroat developers are intent on building a chemical plant in an Irish town, and they'll use any means necessary to silence their opponents. Taffin... goes down so smoothly and satisfyingly. It feels exactly like reading a Jack Reacher novel, where you know the hero is going to come out on top, and you know the villains are underestimating our hero, and that's all part of the fun. Also, most everyone in this movie is morally sketchy, so you are left feeling like 'who am I rooting for here?' That said, Brosnan and his giant hair make this thing serviceable. I liked Brosnan's character's understated toughness in this one and never strays too over the top. If you have problems with debt collection, call Taffin. See more 04/26/2016 Not a great storyline and hard to believe in places. Pierce Brosnan plays his usual self. Taffin seems pretty hard for someone who does business in office with no doors or windows, drives an open top American car in rainy Ireland (that magically fixes itself by the next scene) and yeah, he's pretty slim for a guy that drinks so much stout and drives home afterwards.
