Ryan W Jul 27, 2026 One of the best movies ever made and I’m glad to see it in a theater this time! See more Allen T Sep 12, 2025 A great character study/story. A mental health story. A cautionary tale. A good one if you like DeNiro. Bernard Herrnann's final score sadly- full of emotion. So glad it was back on the big screen! After reading some of the comments, I was able to put my thoughts together and wanted to share them. The main character doesn't really have "main character syndrome," but he is very similar to someone who does. Maybe if I had watched this movie in 1976, my reaction would have been completely different. The whole "main character syndrome" idea has been used and overused so much that it doesn't really affect me anymore. Or maybe I'm simply not old enough to fully understand this movie yet. I really liked the director's idea: is Travis a psychopath or a hero? On one hand, he's clearly disturbed, wants to kill someone, and eventually commits a brutal massacre. But afterwards, society sees him as a hero because he killed the "right" people and saved a girl. It makes you wonder how differently the same actions can be viewed depending on who you kill... Deeper meaning that was easier to get while also portraying it in an entertaining way. See more Angel B @selfcareangel Sep 20, 2026 Taxi Driver is a dark, psychological drama directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Robert De Niro as Travis Bickle, a lonely New York City cab driver who becomes increasingly disconnected from society. De Niro gives an incredible performance—quiet, awkward, and increasingly disturbing. The cinematography also makes 1970s New York feel grimy and almost dreamlike, while Bernard Herrmann’s haunting score adds to the uneasy atmosphere. What makes the movie so memorable is how deeply it gets into Travis’s mind. He’s an uncomfortable character to follow, but that’s the point. You watch his loneliness, anger, and obsession gradually build, while the movie leaves you questioning how much of what he believes is actually justified. Taxi Driver isn’t really about action—it’s about loneliness, alienation, obsession, and a man slowly losing his connection to reality. It’s disturbing, fascinating, and one of those movies that stays in your head long after the credits. See more Read all reviews
