Firmly establishes Jane Schoenbrun as a director to pay close attention to. It is difficult to put into words the impact that her previous film, I Saw the TV Glow, has had for the people whose stories it has given voice to. Similarly dream-like and deeply personal, Camp Miasma presents a stylish and hilarious queer reclamation of the slasher genre.

Jane Schoenbrun delivers yet another generational film. It’s a turduckin of horror/queer/pleasure all rolled into one fantastic ride. It don’t be for everyone, especially if you are looking for a by-the-book slasher homage, but even if you ‘get’ a little bit of it, you will be richly rewarded. And you’ll never know the direction it takes at every turn.
