THE AMBUSH is an unrelentingly intense action film based on a true story from the director of Taken (Pierre Morel). When their armored vehicle is attacked by heavy enemy gunfire and becomes trapped in a remote canyon, three UAE soldiers desperately await salvation. As troops arrive to offer aid, they too, are ambushed. Their final hope is a daring rescue mission plotted by their courageous commander.

Although the film lacks much character depth or cultural insight — too often relying on genre tropes — it does convey the universal nature of courage, camaraderie, and moral reflection along the front lines.

The Ambush is best analogized to the UAE’s F-16s. It’s something you’d enjoy watching, but not the main attraction compared to America’s latest productions—say, some F-35s stuck in political limbo.

4/5

It doesn't get lost in the history or politics of the region. Instead, it shows us the soldier’s perspective. And that alone makes it a story worth telling.

The Review "The Ambush is a gripping and high-octane action film that masterfully portrays courage and sacrifice. The cinematography and directing create an intense, realistic atmosphere that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It is a powerful tribute to heroism, backed by strong performances. A truly impressive cinematic achievement from the region."

The only thing keeping me from giving 5 Stars was the English dubbing. The Director & Crew did an outstanding job in their depiction of combat actions and that of soldiers when engaged with the enemy. Excellent use of contemporary military equipment from the individual soldier's kit to the weapons and vehicles.

Besides the rethoric, the stereotypes and the poor dialogues, it's a good movie in terms of action scenes, realism in equipment usage and damage. Last but not least, is a good alternative to the usual US-centric war movies!

Was a litte apprehensive about watching this Movie because of its Rotton Tomatoes rating. But i was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. This is a tense action packed movie. Yes its subtitled but that doesn't distract you from the excellent action set pieces. Slow beginning but once the action starts its non stop till the end. I won't go into a lot of the story but its a true event which occurred in Yemen where UAE soldiers were ambushed in a valley by Yemen Gihads. And what followed was the rescue mission to retrieve the soldiers from the valley. A first class War Movie.

The movie is a real-life scenario where real soldiers put their lives in line to save their wounded. I don't know how this movie is not rated 100 by the audience, and I wonder who in his right mind could give less than a 100.
