What to Know

Critics Consensus

A brutally efficient yet emotionally hollow swashbuckler, The Bluff's blood-soaked action never quite makes up for it charmless sense of adventure.

Rather than reinvent the genre, the film leans into familiar tropes to deliver bursts of visceral action backed by a commanding central performance from Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Go to Full Review

The Bluff is a rollicking good time despite the fact (or maybe because of the fact) that the line between thrilling and ridiculous has never felt more razor thin than it does here. Go to Full Review

For a genre that has traditionally imparted fast-paced action, romanticized adventure, and charming heroes, this execution lacks elation, warmth and allure. Go to Full Review

Although sharp cinematography and moments of creatively bloody violence add some spark to the proceedings, a bland plot and an ensemble of lifeless characters take the wind out of this flick’s sails. Go to Full Review

Sahil A @RT91290892 1d Great acting, great story. Nice work priyanka See more Syed B @RT10893759 2d The heroine in this film is a zero-star for me, not the story itself. The story and the villain are much stronger. The girl in the story needs to be more strong and active. This film i can say filed due to selection. See more Rocky M @RT12230845 2d The film dragged several times. Connor’s actions often don’t make sense for what he is trying to accomplish. Priyanka’s accent went in and out throughout the movie. You know where this movie will start and end, but they did not do a good job filling the middle. Many better choices out there. See more Keighton P @RT59445790 3d "But it was a tired 2005 feminist trope. The story was disappointing & boring. We want better in 2026 from strong female characters then outdated ideas about pouty women overcoming their struggles. The main character was meant to be a badass but came across more like an unrepentant villain than a heroe.
We need honest humanity, including failures, weakness & change internally alongside inner strength & ingenuity … even in works of fiction. We don’t need cartoon characters, leave that to disney.
There still needs to be an element of humanity in all creative works I believe" @timmyblue Dude how is it outdated and tired? And what's wrong with women over coming there struggles? Many people of colour have had to over come struggles and violence! And that fact that India got invaded by the Brit's, many different stories are told during that period. To call it a trope and calling her a villain is actually ridiculous. If you actually did a bit of research you'd know better ha 😄. See more timmy B @TimmyBlue Apr 5 Great acting and stunt work. As well Directing, Set Design etc. Those little details make a big diference.

There still needs to be an element of humanity in all creative works I believe. It’s much more believable for a protagonist to have been a villain in the past trying to change & be better than a victim who’s not responsible for doing bad things & hurting people with no remorse. Such a tired trope. We want growth & humanity instead.
Do better hollywood. See more michael G @RT91560278 Apr 5 Lots of fighting, very bloody, but boring with a plot as repetitive as a run of the mill video game. Typical streaming pickup by Prime touted as a new movie, so no talent required of the film makers. The only saving grace is the pretty face of the leading lady. Best advice is to take a snooze through it and dream of a better movie. See more Read all reviews
