What to Know

Critics Consensus

Swapping out derring-do for ultraviolence, this grim take on the merry legend of Robin Hood could use more levity in its quiver, but its aim of exploring the complicated humanity behind a folk hero nails the target.

While its visceral violence unfolds brutally at a punishing pace, Hugh Jackman still hits the mark in The Death of Robin Hood.

The Death of Robin Hood manages to be gruelling on multiple levels. Hugh Jackman spends the first, unpleasantly gory half-hour murdering a bunch of people and then agonises for the remaining 90 minutes about his atonement. Go to Full Review

Chris Jul 18 good until the end don't waste your time See more Joshua W Jul 17 The first 30 - 45 minutes are spent making Robin Hood and Little John irredeemable characters. The rest of the runtime is a slow burn until you finally reach credits with little to no payoff. See more Eric Jul 16 Meh it was ok as a standalone but if you are going to make Robin Hood an evil character you definitely need to explain it better than this did. If it was just a regular movie I wouldnt be mad at it but the death of Robin hood had perhaps my expectations to high See more First L Jul 13 Better the more you think about it See more Mr Hollywood Jul 7 It shows rather than tells. It’s meditative. A nice change of pace for this story. See more Matthew G Jul 5 Really good story a man who gets his ultimate karma See more Read all reviews
