When a couple friend of the family needs help, she travels to San Juan to meet them. However, the bus breakdown on the road and needs to be replaced. She visits a fair and the seller Gringo distracts her and she loses the bus. There is a storm and Teresa notes that she forgot her bag inside the Gringo’s RV. But he is gone and does not come to the fair on the next day. Teresa starts a journey to find Gringo and stumbles upon a romance. "La Novia del Desierto", a.k,a. "The Desert Bride" (2017), is an Argentinian Chilean movie Where basically nothing happens. It is indeed a simple romance of a middle-aged couple and supported by the strong performances of Paulina García and Claudio Rissi. In the end, a forgettable film that may be seen once. My vote is six. Title (Brazil): "A Noiva do Deserto" ("The Desert Bride") See more

Jan 31, 2019 Quiet film set in Argentina. A nuanced performance from the superb Chilean actress Paulina Garcia, whose performance in "Gloria" was very powerful. The interplay with veteran actor Claudio Rissi works well here, and their acting carries the movie along so that I remained engaged and interested despite its methodical pacing. Not everything works here, like some confusing flashbacks and a so-so finale, but overall I liked the film. See more

May 10, 2018 A road adventure that last a correct time for the limited conflict behind the characters. Convincing acting, no so convincing situations, gave me the perception of a contemplative movie of the life of simple people. See more
