Critics Consensus

The Final Girls offers an affectionate nod to slasher tropes while adding a surprising layer of genuine emotion to go with the meta amusement.

It does make for a fun movie night, as well as making me interested in seeing what Strauss-Schulson does next.

The downfall of The Final Girls is that it pretty much becomes the tired thing it makes fun of. And it doesn't do much for thrills.

'The Final Girls' does for teen horror slashers what 'Cabin in the Woods' did for the monster genre; it's an uproariously meta romp.

This is another meta horror comedy that seems to be attempting the success of the previous Cabin in the Woods and Tucker and Dale. In comparison, this one is pretty lackluster. However, it does have it’s charm and is an enjoyable watch.

The script was way better than The Final Outcome. I did enjoy the concept and performaces, but was ultimately disappointed on the direction. I felt they spent their PG13 chips on cheap sexy thrills that weren't even that sexy instead of making ths somewhat scary.

Surprisingly fun and smart meta-horror comedy. Sharp screenplay, good direction, well-acted. If you've never heard of it, it's a treat.

A pleasant surprise and impressive how they combined a bunch of different genres together to make a solid fun movie. I laughed, I cried, I cheered. Bravo!! Highly recommended!!
