Ever since Carmela's father received a restraining order, they have only been able to meet under supervision at a family meeting point. Her father, whom she adores, is accused of gender-based violence against Carmela's mother. Carmela struggles not only to come to terms with her new family situation but also to feel understood and loved like her friends. She feels trapped between an adult world that won't listen to her and a judicial system that refuses to help.
