Cinema S @cinema_sensei Aug 20 The Hunt is a devastating study of how quickly suspicion can destroy a person's life. Mads Mikkelsen is phenomenal, giving a restrained, deeply human performance that makes Lucas's pain feel painfully real. Vinterberg builds unbearable tension from such an ordinary situation, while the cinematography adds to the cold atmosphere. The story can feel frustratingly abrupt at times, but its emotional impact is undeniable. Mikkelsen's Cannes-winning performance alone makes this unforgettable. In such accusations, there is almost always no evidence, videos, or images, only the alleged victim's testimony. For this reason, how do we investigate an accusation and not accept an innocent person as guilty? The film is very good, full of important reflections for society. What is most harrowing is that there is no malevolence to set the whole thing in motion, it just arises from a misunderstanding among people who have good intentions.
