In THE INFLUENCER PROJECT, real-life content creator Chiara King travels to Copenhagen with a documentary crew promising an unfiltered look behind the glamorous business of online fame. But as the cameras and her devoted fans follow her every move, someone else is watching too. When an obsessive stalker begins closing in, the documentary becomes something far more terrifying, blurring the line between content and evidence, follower and predator, fact and fiction. From the visionary creators of THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT comes a chilling descent into a new generation of fear, influenced by actual events.

It looks bland, doesn’t make much sense, and takes its time getting you to places you’ve been several times before.

King remains strangely compelling throughout, though, somehow acting and yet not acting, and acting and yet not acting.

n one level, it’s an eerily clever exercise in bad faith, like a poor Michael Haneke film (think Funny Games) for gen-Z kicks; on another, maybe it’s just a crappy ripoff of online tropes that have been way overexposed already. Or both.

In its worst offense of all, THE INFLUENCER PROJECT eventually devolves into my least favorite state for a horror movie to find itself in: trading overall loudness for actual fear.

I enjoyed this though the 3rd act feels clunky & amateur compared to everything before it. It’s a fun watch & of course very relatable to today’s social media climate. What’s scary is that whether this was actually based on true events or not, it’s still very much reality & probably happening worldwide right now.

At the start it had potential to be a new Blair witch project. Does the Blair witch project hit with young people? It loses it as it goes on. The ending is bad. I almost wanted them to abandon the whole horror element and lean into being an influencer is creating fake situations to gain more followers. Think there was more there than doing this story.

Generic movie about a stalker obsessed with an influencer. This movie is jumpscare city. I'm a horror fan, so this tactic grew old after a while. The story is mostly predictable, and only gets interesting the last 15mins of the movie, when the stalker finally reveals his motivations. Wait for streaming

This movie is great! Chiara King does a wonderful job. A must add to the found footage genre. Copenhagen as a location is a refreshing change of pace. Loved the language of it!

Everything. It was terrible. Too dragged out. Nothing actually scary. The jump scares were stupidly put together. I walked out.
