There's a charming old-school element to the animation, the character design reminiscent of vintage Magic Roundabout, but the history lesson aspects of the narrative are perhaps a little too advanced for younger viewers.

Overall good. I think my daughter, 8, was a bit too young to know the characters. Ages 10-13 could probably enjoy it more or get more out of it.

I’m confused about how I haven’t heard about this before. A beautiful, thought-provoking journey through the final years of Leonardo da Vinci, the combination of claymation and 2D animation is lovely and the story is well worth telling. The story does meander but in the same way a river does. Allow yourself to be taken along for the ride. It is a refreshing break from oversaturated and overstimulating content that encourages only a 6-second attention span. Adults and children will both get a lot out of this film if you take the time to let it introduce itself to you. I find it very peaceful and moving and allows for lots of reflection. Also a great platform from which one could explore history, military, architecture, art, engineering… we really love this film!

Despite having some beautiful visuals, this film was boring at best. My kid and I were both desperate for the film to come to an end about half way through. While it tries to deal with some serious and meaningful concepts, it really doesn’t pull it off. Feels like a drawn out version of the tired educational films they often show at museums that don’t take entertainment into account as much as you’d like.
