Sep 16, 2011 I loved 51 Birch Street, but I felt like this film went too far in filming Block's own relationship with his daughter in what became an intrusive way. His daughter was uncomfortable with much of his documenting of her life once she became an adolescent and even when in tears she told him how much she hated it, he kept the camera rolling. It seemed insensitive & disrespectful. No wonder she went to college on the opposite coast! As his stepson said at one point "time to get over it." "It" being the handringing over Lucy growing up. 3 stars because it kept me interested & I loved Lucy & his wife. See more

Jul 21, 2011 This movie wants to be a chronicling of a life from birth to college, a look at what it's like for your child to grow up and move away to college. What it becomes is a study of a man who viewed his daughter's life through a camera lens and failed to make a real connection to her. It's not great filmmaking, but it's interesting. See more

Jul 2, 2011 pretty interesting... kind of sad... honest and normal See more

Jan 12, 2011 Different and often macabre representation of a father daughter relationship, however 17 years of life can not be condensed into just 90 minutes so it's a very disjointed watch - although a great use for the home video collection rather than see them just collect dust. See more

Dec 27, 2010 Interesting doc about the relationship between a father & daughter (a whole family really) and how they grow together and how they deal with saying goodbye before she leaves for college (and adulthood). See more
