Critics Consensus

With a pair of charismatic leads struggling to enliven a poorly conceived story, The Night Clerk checks out early -- and viewers may want to follow suit.

For an alleged psychological thriller, The Night Clerk has no thrills, suspense or tension.

Forget the half-baked investigation and quarter-baked love story -- the real mystery here is how this movie is so boring.

[I]t's a bit ironic that in hindsight The Night Clerk will be remembered, if at all, as a movie de Armas was way too good for-an unfortunate mile marker on her road to movie stardom.

“The Night Clerk” is an enigma in itself. It’s hard to gauge its convictions or tell where it lands.

The Night Clerk is quite the refreshing film experience. Full of intrigue and totally engrossing, the film seems to do the very most with the bare essentials.

La magnífica actuación de Tye Sheridan es el alma de esta película, una curiosa historia que nos ayuda a entender mejor la mente de aquellos que son diferentes.

I enjoyed it. Interesting story and acting. Nothing to deep though so you don't have to think too hard. The tech was somewhat unrealistic but it's a movie so what do you expect. Surprised it got such low ratings... it's not that bad.

A movie with an interesting main character that had tremendous potential ,but the plot and tone kinda gets lost in translation. A better script with a better director would have made this film better.

Perhaps a bit of a slow burn, it's a great character study with a satisfying twist at the end.

A quirky movie about a man-Tye Sheridan with Asperger's who is a hotel clerk who gets involved in a murder. Most interesting to me was Tye's portrayal of asperger's and how he coped with it.

I'm familiar with people on the spectrum both in real life, and as portrayed on screen. As a mom, I could identify with the mom. The love story was bittersweet. I thought this was a well-made movie, and if you know someone on the spectrum, you may want to check this out.
