Americans Hanna and Liv are best friends backpacking in Australia. After they run out of money, Liv, looking for an adventure, convinces Hanna to take a temporary live-in job behind the bar of a pub called 'The Royal Hotel' in a remote Outback mining town. Bar owner Billy and a host of locals give the girls a riotous introduction to Down Under drinking culture but soon Hanna and Liv find themselves trapped in an unnerving situation that grows rapidly out of their control.

The Royal Hotel is a masterclass in tension-building. Green placing these characters in an inescapable place is one thing, but she is also intelligent enough to know that the scariest thing she could do is let these men be the men they are.

It passed time. Well made film but what was the point. Character development minimalistic.

Garner was pretty good. The movie was edgy and was exciting. The plot falls apart though if the hotel just hires one good bouncer with a stick. Extremely unrealistic for the sake of making a somewhat tripe point.

Unequivocally one of the worst 15 movies Ive ever seen. Julia Garner is a fabulous actress, so how she got wrapped up in this horrible production I dont know. There is no character development, there is no discernible plot and it is just an overall horrible film.
