Audience Says

A wasted opportunity to entertain while making the audience think about some serious subjects, The Strays fails as social commentary or psychological thriller.

The execution of ideas here can be bumpy: sometimes you’d like more back-story, other scenes meander. But moments of social satire also land with real oomph. And Madekwe is terrific...

Despite messy plotting and occasional ill focus, fantastic lead performances help The Strays find its way before a knockout ending really carries Martello-White’s eye-catching debut home.

For all her co-stars’ gifts, the movie really belongs to Ms. Madekwe, upon whose eloquently expressive face Mr. Martello-White relies to carry much of his film.

Though it can feel disjointed, and the horror could have done with dialing up, The Strays takes a satisfyingly enraged and confrontational approach to the whitewashing of a life.

7/10 UK, black mom abdandons her kids. Pretends to be white the kids come back years later and kidnap the family. Mom is super selfish. Creepy, thriller, racial Jordan Peele vibes

What the f**k was that actual dog sh*t, the next time I want to waste an hour and a half of my life I’ll paint my c**k like a carrot and run around in a field full of horses. When I die I’m going to haunt the useless c**t that wrote the script for that movie. I hope someone gives him an Anaheim knuckle duster for wasting my time.

Horrible acting. Horrible plot. Horrible ending. I could go into much more detail but I don’t feel this movie deserves that much of my time.
