Now this movie felt much better. Perspective right? The Whisper Man has definitely some interesting moments. It's easy and slow, really good buildup and then after it really get started it gets intens. It's a okay movie, with an interesting premise. Adam Scott is absolutly the highlight of the movie. Robert DeNiro, Michelle Monaghan and Michael Keaton were great to. See more Minh T @RT44917862 3h Too many cliches coincidences and the action scenes are widely not believable. I.e. when your weak 70 yr old father is fending off a strong killer with a knife to his neck, you decided to go a waste life endangering seconds to pry open a platform that you hear the cry for help which can be done after you have help you father who could die any seconds. The lady detective with years of experience didn’t wait for backups to arrive before roaming the house which you already confirm is the killer’s home and got stabbed to death breaks all of law enforcement most basic and rookie protocols. There are endless stupid hyper sensational cliche fight scenes and coincidences that will make the audience feel disrespected. I only finish watching these stupid kind of movies to see how much worse they can get and oh boy they always deliver to no surprise. Hope I save you all 90 minutes that you will never get back! See more Bruce R @RT60933325 4h Luckily this movie was streaming instead of in theaters. The movie borrows so many ideas from other movies. There's a lot of 'Silence of the Lambs' vibes, a little 'Backdraft' vibe, 'Weapons', and probably others. The idea didn't feel all that original. Other plot points such as the relationship issues between father and son, seemed not earned and we were just expected to be ok with it. Again, another overdone plot trope. But the real issue I had is that I just never was frightened nor believed there were any stakes. The villain wasn't convincing and it was telegraphed early on who he really was. Acting performances were ok I guess. This is a middle-of-the-road movie even for streaming. Can't recommend it. See more Rebecca S @RT09195731 8h If you haven’t read the book then maybe it will be decent to watch. However, if you have read it, don’t bother. I made it through exactly 3 minutes. They immediately cut out the first and most important parts of the book. On top of that they gave away one of the most interesting twists within 30 seconds of Tom opening his mouth. Also Jake is 6 not 9-10. If you could get him to 7 it might pull you in more. Shoot I don’t even know if they bothered using the correct names except for Neil. Who is supposed to get a little back story before they snatch him up. Who is the kid whose body they immediately found in the first minute? Complete creative license with that one. They should have gave it a different name, it certainly isn’t the Whisper Man. See more Read all reviews
