On a seemingly ordinary day, Joe Turner (Robert Redford), a quiet CIA codebreaker, walks into his workplace and finds that all of his coworkers have been murdered. Horrified, Joe flees the scene and tries to tell his supervisors about the tragedy. Unfortunately, he soon learns that CIA higher-ups were involved in the murders. With no one to trust, and a merciless hit man (Max von Sydow) close on his tail, Joe must somehow survive long enough to figure out why his own agency wants him dead.

Check this out ! Very interesting (a bit slow next to recent movies…) and catchy. R. Redford & F. Dunaway are amazing… my favourite character is the one played by M. von Sydow. Very 70’s and BRILLIANT !!

Much like a quintet navigating a set without charts, Turner survives by intuition, pivoting off each dissonant chord life throws his way. Pollack keeps the tempo unrelenting, with sudden silences punctuated by eruptions of danger, while Faye Dunaway offers the melancholy counter-melody, shading the narrative with muted grace. The film thrives on its restless rhythm: paranoia is the bassline, trust the vanishing high note. In the grand score of ’70s thrillers, Condor doesn’t just play the changes—it bends them, reminding us that in the shadowy jam session of power and betrayal, survival depends on feeling the groove before the downbeat lands.
