This documentary is not meant to be watched like a three minute reel or 10 minute YouTube video. I believe the writer and director wanted us to slow down a bit ourselves to absorb the beauty and this gigantic crisis. I feel it was somewhat of a lesson on how we should slow our own lives down and actually learn deep understanding and meaning of all around us.

Part footage of Icelandic glaciers, part the filmmaker’s home movies, I kid you not. Pretty dull stuff; I left after about an hour – though it seemed longer! The film wants you to feel sorry the glaciers are melting, yet it’s obvious that means plants and animals can come back.

Probably the most depressing movie I’ve ever seen. Juxtaposing the narrator’s dying family to the dying glaciers and global warming was beyond sobering…plus it did go on a bit too long. Iceland is magnificent, almost feral in its beauty…
