This is not only a sports movie but an uplifting film about family and community coming together during adverse struggles. The film has a spiritual feeling on the human spirit. This should hit the spot in particular for those former athletes. Not sure if the rotten tomato critics have ever related or experienced to these challenges. If you struggle watching movies because of inappropriate content and zero reason to spend 2 hours sitting in front of a screen, this will be a lovely surprise to your heart. He really ruins his entire life, his entire future, his mobility, and almost everything for a meaningless game of high school football. He could’ve still married the nice girl, he could’ve done that and been successful, could’ve gotten a free college education at the bare minimum instead of being a dirt poor farmer with no will to live.
