Critics Consensus

Fast-paced savagery and a memorable twist aren't enough to make up for Trick's slavish devotion to superior slasher films of the past.

leave[s] us, much like the characters in the film who attend the all-night horror-thon, worrying about just who might be sitting around us in the theatre - because, as Jayne puts it, "any one of your costumed moviegoers could be your killer".

A it's a cheesy, actionable rip-off of the John Carpenter Halloween franchise with plenty of blood and jack o'lanterns, but without a shred of originality.

One whopper of a plot-twist briefly gives "Trick" an original hook. But by the end of the picture it's clear the filmmakers aren't really interested in exploring any of the potentially interesting sociopolitical implications of their big surprise.

Trick is savage, brutal and twisted in all the best ways. It's a razor sharp, slick as hell return to form for Lussier and an absolute must see for any fan of the slasher genre.

Trick is a fun Halloween film for fans of slasher films may they be hardcore or casual; it's gleefully violent and doesn't make apologies for it.

kinda cool and nice, after watching it again, the movie is actually pretty good but it's kinda ragebaiting but good

Always looking for a good slasher suggestion, and this one didn’t cut it. Which is pretty much the premise of this movie - lots of knife cutting and stabbing by a face painted/masked psycho trained in Filipino martial arts. Jamie Kennedy was a waste, Omar Epps was boring, and nobody could act. And the big twist ending, Meh.

Stupidest group of people I have ever seen they deserve what they got.

Mostly boring. A couple cool brutal scenes, but honestly I fell asleep halfway through out of boredom. The Tom Atkins appearance was cool, I guess, but his acting seemed contrived. The film was average length, but felt like it went on forever, pretty typical modern "horror" film with bad acting and a snooze fest plot.

(Mistletoe Virus I'm saying I love this movie!) Trick is one of the best I've seen in quite a while, I will highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of Halloween/slashers/horror movies

Scream wannabe. Adding Jamie Kennedy in the cast was'nt enough to have a scream vibe.
