A Shudder Original Film, V/H/S/94 is the fourth installment in the hit horror anthology franchise and marks the return of the infamous found footage anthology with segments from franchise alumni Simon Barrett (Séance) and Timo Tjahjanto (May the Devil Take You Too) in addition to acclaimed directors Jennifer Reeder (Knives & Skin), Ryan Prows (Lowlife) and Chloe Okuno (Slut). In V/H/S/94, after the discovery of a mysterious VHS tape, a brutish police swat team launch a high intensity raid on a remote warehouse, only to discover a sinister cult compound whose collection of pre-recorded material uncovers a nightmarish conspiracy.

I already thought it was strange that they didn't kill any animals on screen, or it wasn't a common United States horror film. As for the other shudder stories, nothing so fictional but animal experiments. Nothing new, excellent audio that doesn't match an old VHS tape, so it doesn't fully capture the atmosphere.

Incredibly gory and unhinged, but that is often what makes it effective. This is not my favourite type of horror nor is the anthology format something I love, but this movie was clearly well-made, especially the visual/special effects. To me, the most horrific and memorable segment was the third one called “The Subject”.

Don’t get me wrong this wasn’t a bad movie, it was well made, good acting, creative stories. However I don’t think this movie was for me. The first segment “Storm Drain” was my favourite out of all of the segments but I left this movie feeling uncomfortable and yeah it’s a horror movie but I felt uncomfortable instead of scared, the vibe of it was really strange. Overall a good movie but I wouldn’t watch it more than once.
