Bert I Gordon was famous for his low-budget films. He must have gotten this one for free. See more Michael C @Michael71 09/08/2021 This sequel to the popular 1957 science fiction film "The Amazing Colossal Man" has an interesting story and good performances by most of the cast, but for the most part it is a boring and very forgettable film. The biggest (no pun intended) problem with the movie is the Colossal Beast (aka Lt. Colonel Glenn Manning) himself (Recast from the original film.). The face makeup used on the character was used to hide the fact that it is a different actor playing the part, but that did not bother me very much. What bothered me is the horrible noises he made whenever he was on screen. He sounded like somebody trying to start a gas powered chainsaw. Also, plot itself is very formulaic. It just seemed like the same story we have seen many times in the past. You know that when Col. Manning is brought back to the US he was going to break out and run hog wild in Los Angeles. Who did not see that coming? Also, I did not care for the final minute of the movie being filmed in color. It did not add to the dramatic effect of the film's climax but rather was a distraction.
