A terrible plague has left the planet's population divided between zombies and humans. An unusual zombie named R (Nicholas Hoult) sees his walking-dead brethren attacking a living woman named Julie (Teresa Palmer) and rescues her. Julie sees that R is different from the other zombies, and the pair embark on an unusual relationship. As their bond grows and R becomes more and more human, a chain of events unfolds that could transform the entire lifeless world.

Even after we thought the genre was exhausted with 28 Days Later … and then Shaun of the Dead… and then the Zombieland twofer … and then ParaNorman … and then some … here we find fresh blood pumped into the format with this zom-rom-com.

I may already have a number one film that is a romantic comedy with zombies (Shaun of the Dead), but Warm Bodies is a lot of fun and charming in an “eat my brains” sort of way.

To be honest this was a very good movie. I really enjoyed the plot. I wish there was a little bit more and like they would’ve gotten together I guess but it was a good movie. I recommend it. Just thought the main female character was kind of dumb I definitely enjoyed the main male character And his story and stuff.

Not the most original premise but it provides is a clever spin. It's very funny and heartfelt, aided by a fantastic soundtrack. Super underrated, don't miss out on it!

Jonathan Levine’s Warm Bodies (2013) offers a fresh, lighthearted spin on the post-apocalyptic genre by retelling Romeo and Juliet through a zombie outbreak. Nicholas Hoult gives a charming, funny performance as "R," a corpse whose internal monologue and newfound love for a human survivor (Teresa Palmer) slowly start reanimating his heart. The film works exceptionally well as a feel-good romantic comedy, backed by sharp humor, a fantastic soundtrack, and great supporting work from Rob Corddry. However, for dedicated horror fans expecting terrifying scares or dark survival dread, the movie's comedic mocking of traditional zombie lore might feel disappointing. Judging it purely as a romantic satire, it stands as a fun, unique, and highly entertaining watch.
