Marco L @decatur555 Jan 24, 2025 This is a Spanish romantic comedy about the emotional and practical fallout of a breakup in the middle of a tough economy. It wants to make us laugh through misunderstandings, absurd situations and clashing personalities, but the result is neither consistent nor memorable. The premise could have produced something fresh. The script, though, lacks the spark and originality to stand out. A few lines work and some scenes make you smile, but most of the humor feels forced and low on energy. The cast does its job, and Ernesto Sevilla is an effective comic counterpoint who adds some lightness, but neither actors nor direction can bring life to a script that begs for more dynamism. Predictable situations and flat characters wear out any surprise. The opening credits are among the few inventive touches. The film is nowhere near the classics it recalls, like One, Two, Three or Barefoot in the Park. Good intentions, poor execution. It hardly leaves a trace.
