Unabashedly hedonistic and foul-mouthed, Lynda Mansell (Emily Lloyd) is a restless teen living in a small coastal English town. Lynda is seemingly out to shock people with her rebellious behavior, but she is also reeling from the death of her mother, and her father (Geoffrey Hutchings) is proving to be woefully ineffective in guiding her. Eventually, Lynda becomes pregnant by her dad's much-older friend, Eric (Tom Bell), which causes a scandal in the community.

Wish You Were Here is the story of Lynda's messy coming of age. It's a movie to cherish -- bouyant, affecting, one of a kind. Go to Full Review

As Lynda, the belligerent, exhibitionist daughter of a strait-laced British shopkeeper, Lloyd is electrifying. She's a foul-mouthed Hayley Mills. Go to Full Review

Idyllic despite its inherent naughtiness, Wish You Were Here is a raunchy postcard from an age that exists largely now for filmakers to make of it what they want. Go to Full Review

Alain E @AlainE 5d Definitely nothing to do with the Pink Floyd. A story that doesn’t always made sense of a young girl with very strong sexual identity. Eventually she ends pregnant and she decides not to abortion the baby. And then? See more super a @RT19133632 12/09/2024 A foul mouthed teen girl in the 1940s who has affairs. I thought it was dreadfully slow and I didn't understand parts of it. I really didn't(spoiler alert) understand why she had an affair with a slimy older man. I guess she was a rebel, but she just seemed obnoxious to me. I was captured by her. The over all cinematography was good and the others were effectively annoying in their stuff, and rigid characters. Dialogue - repartee - was outstanding. Emily's performance was impeccable and Tom's acting was superb. See more 12/03/2016 This is from the same company that made The Garbage Pail Kids Movie?
