07/23/2021 Urainia: (walks around old building with cracks in the walls and peeling paint and pipes oozing green rust) I think people want to work, but, a six hour workday is the maximum. I want less hours for everyone, more time off, and a better assessment of what work my children want to do-- Apasmara: (takes notes) Okay. Urainia: We know retired people take on lower wage jobs because they like the social interaction. I want socially active people engaged in jobs like these but paid as well as the tech industry. That means warehouse workers and waitresses...everyone. Apasmara: Urainia! Urainia: When the lower wage jobs are brought up to a living wage level, you will find the chaos will turn towards Art instead of theft. (rolls eyes) Of course Mercury would turn this into a den of thieves when given the opportunity! As if you own fish in a stream! That is a trick of the Joker. Apasmara: (writes) Tricks of Joker, what does that mean? Urainia: It's in a Batman comic. The joker brands all the fish with his name and tries to sell them. You can't sell air. You can't sell inspiration! Apasmara: But...we have been. Urainia: Yes, I know. Apasmara: Capitalism really seems to inspire people, Goddess. Urainia: So does war. Apasmara: No! Urainia: Then you will heed my commands. I want a slow reorganization of the entire planet. No more Castes! No more of this silly "born into this life" nepotism bullshit! I want each one of my children to know the value of themselves. Apasmara: Won't they compete for the throne? Urainia: You tell those little assholes there is no throne except a toilet! And if they want to keep living in a toilet, just keep competing like little assholes do! See more 03/29/2020 You've probably seen mainstream movies about women being sexually harassed at work which are highly dramatised, revenge-thrillers that are exciting to watch. WORKING WOMAN is the complete opposite of that in tone. What WORKING WOMAN does is explore the issue of sexual harassment of women at work by telling the story slowly, subtly, in the context of real life where Orna has to manage completely alone. Even those closest to her don't understand what she is going through — male or female. And while Orna ultimately fights back, she does this in a way which is much more realistic and within the power of anyone to accomplish — providing they are able to fight in their own way, not the ways that Hollywood may sensationally represent. WORKING WOMAN takes a slow burn approach and, while I cannot speak for women who watch this movie, the ending, for me, was an empowering one. Liron Ben-Shlush, who plays Orna, is brilliant in a subtle performance that strikes powerfully at the viewer's emotional heart. WORKING WOMAN is a powerful articulation of what so many women have to put up with in the work place and the loneliness and isolation that the social power that allows some men to perpetrate abuse on women. This movie should be watched by all women and men to gain a deeper appreciation of what women experience. See more dave d @RT34924333 11/30/2019 The powerful Israeli film, 'Working Woman' wasn't the usual date night movie, but it proved to be a strong story with realism that was a precursor to the me-too movement in Hollywood. It's clear way too many men think rules don't apply to them, but it's the strong female character that makes this special. There isn't an uninteresting minute, and it's filmed delicately with just the right framing for every scene. You feel what the characters feel. It's understated and 100% could be happening to ANYONE you know. One of the most important films on this topic and it preceded it's time. An accurate portrayal of way too many offices.
