Jack L @Jack-o-lantern 1d This is my favorite apocalyptic movie yet. It is so funny and the storyline is awesome. I think every joke and every scene is fantastic. I do think that Emma Stone’s character can be a little annoying at times, but I try not to think about it too often. It is gory, sarcastic, fast, and surprisingly light on its feet, giving the apocalypse a fun, self-aware energy without losing the threat completely. Woody Harrelson is the standout as Tallahassee. He is hilarious and fully committed, bringing rage, swagger, Twinkie obsession, and buried sadness to a character who could have been just a one-note tough guy. Jesse Eisenberg also gives the movie its distinct voice as Columbus, using the rules and narration to make the zombie world feel funny, organized, and personal. The Bill Murray cameo is one of the funniest and most memorable parts of the film, perfectly matching its absurd tone. The story is simple and not especially deep, but Zombieland is sharp, energetic, quotable, and one of the most enjoyable horror comedies of its era.
