Ciaran S @TrainMultifan26 Aug 30 LOTL is just an unoriginal movie with little to no effort put into it (and yet it based on the tv series from the 1970s?), well write down a checklist of what this movie has: does it have a forgettable story with lazy writing consistently fill with plot holes, check. Does it have uninteresting characters that are pretty clique and do unfunny jokes, check. The only good thing i can say about this feature is that the visuals look pretty decent but the costume design on Chaka looks uncomfortably disturbing to watch not to mention the scenes with Matt Lauer pretty much just aged like milk that and the rest of the cast deserve better so overall not the bottom of the barrel type of movie Will Ferrell has done but it's not worth watching and a waste of potential. As such, I rarely cite something as "one of the worst movies I've ever seen" - a claim that gets tossed around far too liberally. That being said, I'm forced to say it here in regards to "The Land of the Lost". I absolutely hated this pointless trainwreck of a movie. The plot was nonexistent, and the entire thing was just one absurd scene strung together with another over and over again. Almost none of the jokes or gags landed and the only two times I laughed were when Holly (Anna Friel) made a "politically incorrect" joke about show tunes. This was of course accompanied by the show tunes in question which were as obnoxious as one might imagine, completely in keeping with this total cringe-fest of a movie. Will Farrell was insufferable here, but in fairness to him, he didn't have much to work with. See more Aiden G @addycortes Jul 25 I will be honest: the effects in Land of the Lost are amazing. Of course, I want to say 100%, but I kind of love the world-building of Land of the Lost. Even though I never watched the show and have zero knowledge of it, I still find it amazing in a way—the effects. My one big takeaway is the gross-out humor. Is it really necessary? The urine sequence, like...? I swear, I feel like a frat guy wrote this. The writing could be better, though. But since every 2000s big-budget movie had to attract audiences with what they thought was best because of those BS graphics, I get it. I am sad that this movie didn't get the love it deserves. Aside from the humor and writing, I think they had something here, and I believe it could have been a fun movie based on an old TV show that people cherished. But I guess the moral of the story is: never trust a studio-pitched movie.
