Although Burns is, of course, a beloved institution, and any opportunity to see him is welcome, he is not given much to do in the movie, and he doesn't do much with it. Go to Full Review

Not even the charms of Mr. George Burns can salvage this long-in-the-tooth "Big" rip-off. Go to Full Review

Adam N 2d This movie perfects the "body switch" trope. Unlike "Big" and all those others, "18 Again!" manages to deliver a meaningful story while removing all the awkward aspects of other films in the genre. As for the acting, Charlie Schlatter's mimicry of George Burns' mannerisms on point, and George Burns' voiceover is most enjoyable. The comedy is excellent, doing away with all the cliches and unpleasantness of similar films (e.g. leaving out the typical "swapped-characters-spend-a-full-minute-screaming-in-turn-at-one-another" scene) while still contributing to the plot. Any loose ends are tied up by the end rather nicely, and all the characters have a purpose, unlike most "switcheroo" films. Overall, this film is a severely underrated gem of the 80s, and greatly overlooked when it comes to films of the "body swap" plot structure. See more tommy J Dec 27 This movie is so much fun. I loved it.
