It is one of the best educational movies i have ever watched before, you can watch the story from the beginning to end without skipping the scene because all the scenes is meaningful. it really reminds me of a value-based movie Cabrini in the different way, because Cabrini is a story of A pioneer who dedicated her life to helping the poor and immigrants.While Akeelah talk about courage, persistence and believing in yourself. With some help and encouragement, especially from Laurence Fishburne's character, she works her way up to the National Spelling Bee. Movie is a feel good movie without being too maudlin. Great to watch with older children and up.
