What to Know

Critics Consensus

An earnest attempt to parody campy 1950s sci-fi films, Alien Trespass eventually loses its charm among tedious dialogue and cheesy special effects.

The simple fact is that this movie kind of drove me nuts, and the only emotion it consistently brought out of me was an almost overwhelming desire for the darn thing to come to an end. Go to Full Review

This lazy effort gets points only for truly loving -- perhaps to a fault -- the cheapo creature flicks of the 1950s. Go to Full Review

Alien Trespass, with a rating notice that mentions 'brief historical smoking,' is at least better than last year's official remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still. Go to Full Review

A clever and surprisingly authentic throwback to the cheesy sci-fi films of the '50s. Go to Full Review

The movie can't decide if it's an homage to 1950s sci-fi genre or a "new" kind of story. Go to Full Review

Jacob B 22h You know, I think this is the only time I've seen a film from an X-Files staff member actually advertise itself as being directed by someone who worked on the show. Alien Trespass...exists. I don't have any problems with it and R.W. Goodwin certainly does an admirable job paying homage to old '50s sci-fi but it doesn’t have much else to offer beyond the throwback novelty. Though I'll admit it made a good first impression with the prologue homaging what '50s cinema was like. And I guess it's a nice change of pace that the premise was played straight rather than a parody like Monsters vs. Aliens allegedly was. But when movies like Tremors and Eight-Legged Freaks have done this kind of thing better, Alien Trespass is just...there. It achieves what it sets out to do, but not in a distinctive way past acting like a "lost" '50s film IN COLOUR! Hell, even The X-Files did this better with episodes like "Jose Chung's From Outer Space" and the one about the Files' origins. See more David B. Nov 29 Square, but kinda groovy! See more Bruce M @BruceMc May 31 Charming and occasionally quite funny. Very enjoyable if you're nostalgic for old-time science fiction movies. See more nick s @Nick_S 04/01/2024 A low budget movie that tries to be zany but gets caught up in its own story. The acting is very stagey, which makes it hard to care about any of the characters. A lot more gags and quips may have made it more bearable. You could see that everyone was trying hard to make it work. Sets and costumes were pretty good. See more Jim S @JimS101 06/21/2023 Perhaps the worst movie made this Century. See more Jack B 05/09/2023 The pros completely missed this one, folks. If you're into old, original scifi movies, and even if you're not, watch this one on a rainy night with your spouse or date with some popcorn and milk duds. We need more simple, tongue-in-cheek movies like this to keep us sane. See more Read all reviews
